My Home Audio Production Facility

My personal studio is used for audio production for various songwriting projects for myself and my co-writers, audio testing for new publications for the ArtistPro books and videos I publish, as well as editing and mastering of live recordings I've worked on for myself or clients over the years. The studio is now built around a Mac Pro Quad 2.66GHz running three operating systems, including OS X Tiger, OS X Leopard, and Windows XP. It has four hard drives, one for each OS and one for audio file and other media storage, The machine has 5GB of RAM and 256 Video RAM. I use a Tascam US-2400 Control Surface and it works wonderfully. I use the TC Electronic PowerCore FireWire system of plug-ins and it is living in perfect harmony with the UAD1 card from Universal Audio, giving me a nice suite of toys to enjoy while recording and mixing. I now work primarily in Pro Tools 7.4 LE, but also have Logic Express 8, and Digital Performer 5.5 installed along with the other apps listed below. I recently connected the Mac Pro to a projector mounted to the ceiling that shoots the monitor to the wall for my second monitor, which is great for scoring video!

I don't hire out the studio and wouldn't know where to find the time if I wanted to hire it out. I like to record my music, songs I've co-written with others, etc. and have enough to do with those projects to keep the dust off the gear. Additionally, it really helps to understand the technology and processes behind modern-day recording if you want to publish books on the subject! The studio is set up in the bonus room at our home in Williamson County, TN. This is most of the stuff in the studio, but things are always getting added, taken away, yada yada yada.

I also got over 100,000 various audio production loops from Sonic Foundry, M-Audio, Cakewalk, Apple, Hal Leonard, and several other companies. Far too many to ever use, unfortunately.
